I was just drinking a cup of green tea, and I started getting curious. I've always heard green tea was good for you and what not, but how is it good for you? Does it clear your skin or something?
So, my question is...
What are the benefits of drinking green tea?
Are there any bad things about drinking green tea?
I mean like actual green tea. Like the tea in a bag, you put it in hot water and drink it.
Haha, is it weird that I never put anything in my tea? I love the natural flavoring.
I usually drink green tea on a fairly regular basis as I understand the health benefits of green tea in general, the only thing that stops me drinking it on a daily basis is the fact that green tea can often have quite a bitter after taste.
This is NOT the case with Chai Zen tea, I'm actually sipping it now as I write this article and the taste is mild and soft, there's no bitter taste at all.
For me, I'm not really interested in losing too much weight , I just want to tone up a bit but most importantly for me are the health benefits of drinking green tea.
HOWEVER, for people who DO want to lose a few pounds, drinking green tea is a very well documented way of losing weight by incorporating it into your diet plan.
Read what the experts have to say in the link below.
Like most folks, I could stand to lose a few pounds. I do my best as far as diet and exercise go, such as trying to make healthy food choices whenever possible and jogging or doing other cardio workouts at least 5 times per week, but apparently that's not enough to get rid of some of my belly fat. After doing a bit of reading about green tea weight loss properties, I've decided to work this beverage into my daily routine to see if I've finally found the missing element.
Some people are already aware of the many proven green tea weight loss benefits, but quite a few aren't. After all, if everyone knew how much this refreshing drink could help in the seemingly never ending quest to shed pounds, then we might see a change in sales figures within the beverage industry. Forget about diet sodas and those flavored teas loaded with sugar; people would board the green tea weight loss bandwagon in droves!
One of the most important green tea weight loss benefits for dieters is that it helps you burn more fat. This beverage contains large amounts of polyphenol, an antioxidant that has been shown to improve your health in many ways. For instance, polyphenols are good for your skin and might prevent wrinkles. Polyphenols are also a critical component for dissolving triglycerides, which are essentially the chemical form of fat after it is broken down in the body. In other words, you can help remove excess fat and perhaps even lower cholesterol as well simply by drinking a refreshing beverage.
People who have tried green tea weight loss diets have also reported that they often have more energy after consuming this beverage, which helps them exercise longer and, by extension, also boosts their metabolism. I know that even when I'm eating right, I sometimes don't have enough energy to get through the day. I become sluggish in the late afternoons, which can then result in a poor workout. Or, if things are really bad, I might skip my workout altogether and simply go right home after work to take a nap. So I could definitely benefit from any extra energy that this drink might provide. And no, the boost doesn't just come from caffeine. Those who are familiar with green tea weight loss properties seem to think that the jolt comes primarily from catechin polyphenols in the beverage.
Anyway, I'm excited to start in on this green tea weight loss program that I've read about. I like the fact that I won't have to change my lifestyle all that much or make any major sacrifices. I'll just replace a glass or two of water (and perhaps one of the Diet Cokes I drink throughout the day) with this healthier alternative and see where it gets me. Hopefully this will be the breakthrough I've been looking for!
I have heard so many things on green tea. I have heard that is is great for your health and it helps you loose weight and exercise and alot of other things. So I am wondering are these things really true? Also what else does this stuff do? It is organic green tea. Thanks!
A very good book on green tea that I read recently is ' The Ultimate Tea Diet' by Mark Ukra (”Dr. Tea”). It’s a very interesting and informative book and in it he discusses the three secret ingredients of tea.
L-theanine is one of the three secret ingredients in tea and only one other plant (an obscure mushroom) contains it.
Because of the way L-theanine affects the brain’s alpha waves, it relieves stress, anxiety and tension.
In 2004, researchers in Australia compared L-theanine to Xanax, an anti-anxiety medication. Ukra reports that “they found that L’-theanine tended to reduce anxiety during a relaxation phase of the study, while the drug had no such effect.”
